What you can expect from these builds, and who to tell when something breaks.
What these builds are
Mosferatu is made by one person, alongside a full-time job, and the downloads offered here are the current release builds for macOS, Windows and Linux. The game is better for having been played, and a house built from a seed will find problems that no amount of testing at a desk turns up.
That also means there is no support desk. There is one inbox, read by the person who made the game, and a good report is genuinely useful. What cannot be promised is a reply, a fix, or a timeline.
Reporting something
Send it to support@tfinn.co.za. Reports that are easy to act on get acted on first, and three things make the difference:
- Your platform, and the version you are running.
- The seed, if you were in a generated mansion. The whole house can be rebuilt from it, so it turns an unrepeatable bug into a repeatable one.
- A screenshot or a short description of what happened. A picture of the wrong thing is worth more than a paragraph about it.
Before sending, it is worth checking the release notes. A problem you have found may already be known, and an older download may simply not match the current build.
Things that are known
A few things are worth knowing before you start. Generated rooms can occasionally produce an odd arrangement, characters and animations have been corrected by hand where the generation got them wrong, and the mobile versions are still in development.
A download will not open
The soundtrack and the art book open on MEGA, and both carry a checksum file so you can confirm a download arrived intact. Both are linked from Downloads.
Privacy
Neither the game nor this site collects any user data. What is stored, and where, is set out in the privacy policy.
