Privacy Policy

The game collects nothing.

What the game stores, who sees it, and how to have it removed.

Effective 12 September 2026 · Last updated 13 September 2026

Mosferatu is made by TFINN. This policy covers the game on desktop and mobile, and this website. It is short because the game does not collect anything.

Who we are

Mosferatu is made by TFINN, an independent studio in South Africa. TFINN is the responsible party for this policy. Questions, requests to see or delete information, and complaints all go to support@tfinn.co.za.

In short

  • The game collects nothing and sends nothing.
  • It saves your progress on your own device, and you can delete it whenever you like.
  • This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no advertising.
  • The only information we ever hold is what you choose to send us, by joining a beta test or writing to us. We delete it.

The game

The game makes no network connections. It cannot send anything anywhere, which is why none of this is more complicated than it is.

To remember where you were, it writes a small save file in its own data folder on your device:

  • Your settings, such as audio and control preferences.
  • Your tutorial progress.
  • Your local run history, achievements and discovered clues.
  • Any custom difficulty you have configured.

That file stays on your device. It is never transmitted, never shared, and never readable by other apps on iOS and Android. On desktop it is an ordinary file in your user data folder, which you and any program running as you can read.

On iOS and Android, uninstalling the game removes it. On desktop, uninstalling may leave the folder behind, and you can delete it yourself:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Mosferatu
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Mosferatu
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Mosferatu

Nothing is kept on a server, because nothing was ever sent.

If you join a beta test

What Apple and Google collect

During TestFlight testing, Apple collects crash logs, device and usage information, and the feedback you submit, and shares it with us so we can find and fix bugs. That can include your name, your email address and any screenshots you attach. Apple’s handling of it is described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Google Play testing works the same way: Google collects crash reports, diagnostics, device information and the feedback you submit through Play, and makes it available to us under Google’s privacy policy.

In both cases the platform collects it, not the game, and only while you are taking part. The game has no analytics and no crash reporting of its own.

Leaving a testing programme, or installing a released build instead, stops any further collection. It does not by itself delete what has already been collected.

What we do with it

We read beta feedback to find bugs, and we delete anything we receive within 30 days of receiving it. Apple and Google keep their own copies under their own policies.

TestFlight builds stay available to testers for 90 days, after which the build expires and can no longer be opened. That is how long the build lasts, not how long data is kept.

You can ask us to delete anything of yours that we hold at any time by writing to support@tfinn.co.za.

If you write to us

If you email support@tfinn.co.za, that message reaches us and contains whatever you chose to put in it, usually your email address, and sometimes a screenshot or details of your device. We use it only to answer you and fix the problem. We delete it within 30 days, except where our email provider keeps a backup copy for longer under its own policy.

This website

The site is static. It sets no cookies, and it uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its fonts and its trailer are served from this domain, so no third-party font or video service ever sees your requests. There is no third-party embed anywhere on the site.

Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider, Cloudflare, which processes standard request data, including IP addresses, to serve the pages and protect the site from abuse. That information is used for those purposes and is kept under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not use it to identify you.

Some links lead to other services: MEGA for downloads, the app stores, and the services named on the credits page. Once you follow one of those links, that service’s own privacy policy applies. This site sends nothing to them on your behalf.

Because there are no cookies, there is no cookie banner and nothing to opt out of. We do not track you, so “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals have nothing to act on.

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it with no one except the service providers named above, and only to run the things described here.

Your rights

There is no account to delete, because none exists, and the game holds nothing about you that we can see. For the small amount we may hold, an email address and the contents of a message, you can ask to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to our holding it. Write to support@tfinn.co.za and we will respond within 30 days.

We hold that information on the basis of your consent, because you chose to write to us or join a test, and our legitimate interest in fixing bugs and answering you.

If you are in South Africa, you may complain to the Information Regulator. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

Mosferatu is a horror game and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has written to us, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it, and we will.

Security

We hold as little as possible. What we do hold, an email address and the contents of a message, stays in access-controlled accounts and is transmitted over HTTPS. We run no servers of our own, so there is no database of user information to lose.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and material changes are described here. The current version always lives at mosferatu.co.za/privacy/.
